Affordable new homes in Victorian Brighton
At Richmond Terrace, part of the stunning Victorian conversion of Brighton's former technical college, Merlion Homes has apartments available for as little as £99,950. The Assisted Purchase Scheme, a shared equity plan unique to Merlion, enables homeowners who may not normally aspire to such a lifestyle to purchase an apartment within this desirable development.
Merlion Homes is selling a total of 24 apartments on a shared equity leasehold basis on this development, which forms part of London Town Plc's flagship 1897 refurbishment. Five properties are now remaining: three one-bedroom properties priced from £99,950 and two two-bedroom properties starting at £149,950. In both cases, the purchaser has a 75% share of the equity and unlike many shared equity schemes, Merlion's Assisted Purchase Scheme does not require rent to be paid on the remaining 25%.
The development is ideally placed, overlooking a central park which connects this part of the town to the sea front. The Royal Pavilion and the West Pier are within easy reach, as is the famous Lanes - a delightful collection of historic cobbled streets featuring a diverse mixture of antique shops, eclectic cafes and restaurants and urban culture. For those wishing a quieter form of relaxation, another of Brighton's attractions, the beautiful South Downs, is within view of the park.
The railway station is no more than ten minutes' walk from Richmond Terrace, making it an ideal location for commuters or those working in the centre of Brighton.
The elegant design of the 1897 building results in unusual yet practical layouts and large windows create a bright and airy environment. All properties benefit from gas central heating, fitted kitchens with oven hob and extractor hoods, and flooring throughout, including ceramic bathroom tiles.
